Put me down for another one who likes the fern. I've been trying for years to get a picture of a fern that I am happy with - perhaps I should try less hard (a propos your post above about not letting too much thought get between seeing and clicking the shutter).

At first glance I thought there was a tango going on.

Then my boring engineer brain kicked in and there's a DNA spiral in front of me.

I watched the video and absolutely loved the thoughts behind it. Perhaps that's why I'm now attracted to street photography. There's a certain freedom in total reaction without thinking. It's nice, also, to be surprised at what I get. Thanks for sharing the video.

I'm at the same point as you are . It's either your theory or I'm going to just give up photography for a long long period of time. I'm burnt out with rules and everything digital! I've started taking my 8x10 out with hyperfocal setting and shooting paper negatives. I'm having so much fun, there's such a large element of imperfection in the images that it makes me so free because I DON'T CARE. The images are just for my viewing.

Hello, Paul.

We're really sorry to hear about your bad disk... indeed, reports of customers receiving corrupt disks are unusual. Please accept our apologies.

We're happy to send out another one to you. Or, in the meantime, we ask you to visit our website and download the driver for your new Bamboo Fun tablet. The driver will get your tablet working and give you access to the Control Panel so you can get going.

Our team here is working on 20 new Customer Care videos and they're nearly complete. We should have these posted on our website within the next few weeks, in advance of the holidays.

Thanks for reaching out and commenting. We're sorry about your poor experience but hope you will still enjoy your tablet.

I bought the Pen & Touch too, and will be returning it once I return from a trip I'm now on. I had a few days to play with it before I left, and I'll say, even when the install disk works, it's not ready for prime time.

I don't know if it's just that Apple somehow got it supremely right with their MacBook pads, but that's my standard, and Bamboo doesn't come close. The first dealbreaker is that it sometimes registers the finger-down start of a motion as a tap, which it isn't; this leads to inadvertent clicks, program starts, etc. The second is that there's no way, unlike with Apple, to continue a long motion (say, to the right) by adding a finger to the left when you run out of pad on the right. So you're limited on a single motion by where you started.

All the pen stuff works fine. But then, I already had a regular Bamboo tablet, and I wanted something for double duty so I didn't have to move my tablet around so much.

Good idea, bad execution. I wanted to like it. I don't.

It's the reason I do carry a camera. I "see" the small un-noticed things everyday, everywhere I go. The camera is to capture the "seeing", not to help create the "seeing".

I carry my camera with my as much as I can and I take pictures every day. I find that I notice things even without the camera that I would not have noticed in the days when I wasn't making pictures daily.

There's a different kind of seeing when I have the camera and am looking for pictures. In that mode, I'm looking at everything and considering everything, something I don't do--or don't have time to do--when the camera is merely with me.
