Substitute ‘artistic’ for ‘literary’ and I think that pretty much sums it all up.

    Yup, the more subjective it gets the more BS. Just because there is more BS does not make it necessarily worse just different.

    The harder it is to come up with the answer the more dancing you can do.

    Does this say as much about the students (practitioners) as the subject?
    What happens when engineers take up art crit? (The reverse is most certainly not going to happen.)

    the original has a comment pop-up box suggesting one go read the wikipedia article about deconstruction. that’s a fine way to become more cynical, and/or cure any insomina you have.
