Black and White or Color

Posted in Leica M9 by Paul Butzi on March 6, 2010

I’m still sorting out things with the M9. Color? B&W? some of each?

Curiously, I have not had this dilemma with the 5D and its successor, the 5DmkII. There’s something about the M9 that makes me see some things in B&W. It might just be that it feels very much like an M6, and so when I am holding it, I have my M6 eyes on, and they’re definitely B&W.

Having now wielded an M6 for about 10 months, I couldn’t imagine shooting anything else in it other than B&W. I was out with it today. I might have to try color, though.

Carl Weese has some interesting comments relative to this in this post on his blog Working Pictures:

Ah, I see I’m not the only one who uses a Pentax lens cloth.
